5/10/2010 - BBQ at County of Wellington Property Auction

Crime Stoppers BBQ Fundraiser in conjunction with the County of Wellington Property Auction

SATURDAY JUNE 5TH, 2010

Crime Stoppers of Guelph Wellington held it`s 4th annual BBQ Fundraiser in conjunction with the County Property Auction on Saturday June 5th, 2010 at the Rockwood O.P.P. Detachment.

The weather was on our side and the BBQ went very well. Thank you to our annual supporters: Cargill Meat Solutions, Nestle Waters, and Keybrand. Our BBQ Fundraiser would not be a success without them!

Thank you to the Home Depot in Guelph for their wonderful donation of this lovely BBQ shown here.

Thanks to everyone who came out and thank you to the County of Wellington for allowing us to be the recipient of this year`s auction proceeds.

5/7/2010 - Mulch Sale Fundraiser

1st Annual Mulch Sale Fundraiser

A HUGE SUCCESS !!

Crime Stoppers of Guelph Wellington held it`s first 1st annual Mulch Sale Fundraiser on Saturday May 1st, 2010 at the plaza located on the corner of Imperial Road S., and Paisley Road in Guelph and most recently at the Centre Wellington Sportsplex, 550 Belsyde Avenue in Fergus on Saturday, May 15th. We sold out by 10:00am WOW!!  

 

Thank you to our sponsor, ALLTREAT FARMS who supplied the product which was available in a choice of 4 colours: Canada Red® Bark Mulch, Red Devil®, Mocha Brown®, and Black Beauty®. Mulch sold for $5.00/bag-taxes in (bag size is 2cu ft - which covers 12 sq ft), “cash and carry”. A GREAT DEAL! 

 

Crime Stoppers wants to express their utmost appreciation to the community for their wonderful support in promoting the event, our volunteers for all their hard work and to our customers...your dollars will go to help pay rewards to our callers and help promote awareness about our successful crime fighting program.

Guelph Police Service will be holding their annual Open House this year on May 10th and 11th, 2010 at their Guelph headquarters located at 15 Wyndham Street South.

5/5/2010 - Fergus Lions Home Show

Fergus Lions Club Home & Leisure Show

Wednesday May 5th through Friday May 7th, 2010 marks this year`s annual Fergus Lions CLub Home and Leisure Show. Location, as always, is at the CW Sportsplex in Fergus. Due to space restraints, Crime Stoppers will not have a booth at the show this year. 

Look for us again next year!

Crime Stoppers of Guelph Wellington is a non-profit community based charitable organization that has been an annual participant of the Home Show since 2005.

5/1/2010 - Crime Stoppers Trunk/Yard Sale

Crime Stoppers Trunk/Yard Sale

Unfortunately, we will not be holding our Trunk sale event as planned on May 1st. We will consider this event for a future date.

Instead, we will be holding our 1st Annual Mulch Sale event fundraiser, located at the plaza on the corner of Imperial and Paisley in Guelph. Please read on for further information under the Mulch Sale Fundraiser header.

3/15/2010 - Arresting Images OPP Exhibit

Arresting Images OPP Exhibit

The Arresting Images OPP Exhibit was on display at the Wellington County Museum and Archives the week of March break - March 15 through 19th, 2010.

This is a travelling exhibit with a series of historic "mug shots" from various areas of Ontario of men and women in a great variety of crimes. This exhibit is open to the public and there will be a variety of theme days with activities for kids and their families who are visiting to enjoy.

Crime Stoppers of Guelph Wellington was represented on Monday, March 15th, and we thank every one who stopped by to ask questions and also give their input.

Thank you to Libby Walker of the Wellington County Museum for inviting us to participate the in the event.

1/6/2010 - Past Chair Presentation

Award Presentation to Immediate Past Chair

At our January Crime Stoppers Board meeting a presentation was made to John Svensson, our immediate past Chair, by Randy Martyn who became our new Chair effective January 1st, 2010.

We would like to acknowlege John`s efforts over his three year term as Chair. John has been a great contributor to our program in it`s overall progression and successes. John has been a member of our Board since 2004. We welcome the opportunity to continue to work with John as a Director of our Board.

Crime Stoppers Month

January is recognized nationally, as Crime Stoppers month. We provide special media coverage to support our program through local papers, radio and community cable television stations.
