Crime Stoppers Month

January is recognized nationally, as Crime Stoppers month. We provide special media coverage to support our program through local papers, radio and community cable television stations.

Award Presentation to Immediate Past Chair

At our January Crime Stoppers Board meeting a presentation was made to John Svensson, our immediate past Chair, pictured above left, by Randy Martyn who became our new Chair effective January 1st, 2010.

We would like to acknowlege John`s efforts over his three year term as Chair. John has been a great contributor to our program in it`s overall progression and successes. John has been a member of our Board since 2004. We welcome the opportunity to continue to work with John as a Director of our Board.

Arresting Images OPP Exhibit

The Arresting Images OPP Exhibit will be on display at the Wellington County Museum and Archives the week of March break - March 15 through 19th, 2010.

This is a travelling exhibit with a series of historic "mug shots" from various areas of Ontario of men and women in a great variety of crimes. This exhibit is open to the public and there will be a variety of theme days with activities for kids and their families who are visiting to enjoy.

Crime Stoppers of Guelph Wellington will have two representatives on hand on the Monday, March 15th, to answer any questions you may have about our crime fighting non-profit charitable community program.

Crime Stoppers Trunk/Yard Sale

We hope you`ll stop by and check out our goods for sale at our Trunk/Yard Sale to be held at 8:00 am on Saturday May 1st, 2010 in the Canadian Tire Parking lot located on Hwy #6 in Fergus.

Thank you to store owner, Charile Campbell for allowing us to utilize this highly visible space.

Members from our Board of Directors will be waiting for you, and all proceeds made from the sale of these items will go back into our program to help pay rewards to tipsters for their information on crimes and also towards promotional awareness about our program.

Come check out the bargains! You may just find that one item you`ve been looking for.

Fergus Lions Club Home & Leisure Show

Wednesday May 5th through Friday May 7th, 2010 marks this year`s annual Fergus Lions CLub Home and Leisure Show. Location, as always, is at the CW Sportsplex in Fergus. This year there are renovations being done on the "A" arena ice pad and so it will not be available. Instead, a large tent will be erected outside in the parking lot. All the amenities will be provided per usual and a "shuttle service" will be available to and from the tent to Arena "B" for visitors. 

Crime Stoppers will be represented by our Board Directors and volunteers each night. Please stop in and say hello and find out what we are all about.

Crime Stoppers of Guelph Wellington is a non-profit community based charitable organization that has been an annual participant of the Home Show since 2005.

Guelph Police Service Open House

Guelph Police Service will be holding their annual Open House this year on May 10th and 11th, 2010 at their Guelph headquarters located at 15 Wyndham Street South.

Crime Stoppers of Guelph Wellington appreciates the support of the Guelph Police Service and will have a booth display available at their event.

Join in and learn what services are available to you in your communty.

1st Annual Mulch Sale Fundraiser

Crime Stoppers of Guelph Wellington will be holding their 1st annual Mulch Sale Fundraiser on Saturday, May 15th, 2010. The event will run simultaneously at two separate locations: CW Sportsplex in Fergus and at a Guelph location yet to be finalized….please check back.

Mulch is sponsored by ALLTREAT FARMS and will be available in a choice of 4 colours: Canadian Red Bark, Red Devil, Mocha Brown, and Black Beauty. It will be offered at a great deal “cash and carry”, in 2cu ft sized bags (which covers 12 sq ft). 

Pre-orders of 25 bags or more, will be available to order on our website in April…..please check back.

Beautify your home and also help Crime Stoppers of Guelph Wellington raise money to fight crime and pay callers for their information about crimes that would otherwise may have gone unsolved.
